Madera police quickly catch Walmart shoplifting suspect

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Madera police say a man stole from the wrong store at the wrong time.

Marcos Gomez was arrested on theft charges Saturday evening. He's accused of taking several items from Walmart and running out with loss prevention officers chasing after him.

But several Madera police officers happened to be in the parking lot investigating a hit-and-run crash. The 33-year-old suspect was quickly taken into custody, and the stolen items were recovered.
