Woman arrested in Visalia burglary, ID theft case that targeted elderly victims

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Visalia Police say 47-year-old Orailia Vallejo burglarized 16 apartments, stealing credit cards and jewelry from elderly victims, then used the stolen credit cards throughout Tulare County.

Seven of the burglaries happened between June 2014 and April 2015 at the Walnut Park Retirement Village in Visalia. Investigators said during the investigation they identified Vallejo, an employee at the retirement village, as the suspect. When they searched her home, they found large amounts of stolen jewelry taken from the apartments that had been burglarized.

Police said during the investigation, they uncovered nine additional burglaries and fraudulent credit card cases, identifying Vallejo as the suspect.

Vallejo was booked at the Tulare County Pretrial Facility on numerous burglary and identity theft charges.
