FRESNO, Calif. -- A Valley woman, who has spent most of her life fighting for same-sex equality, brought her family to Washington D.C. for Tuesday's historic hearing.

Among the many supporters outside on the steps of the Supreme Court were Robin McGehee, her fiance, and her two children. The family has been in Washington D.C. over the past few days after receiving an invitation to the White House for a special tour and the welcoming ceremony for the Prime Minister of Japan.

They were able to shake President Obama's hand and thank him for standing up for LGBT families.
