FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A suspected street racer is under arrest thanks to the help of a CHP airplane. Just after midnight police noticed Samuel Pena and another car getting ready to race near Clovis and Shields. Police say he smiled at an officer before speeding off.

Investigators say Pena reached speeds over 100 miles per hour running three lights at Clinton, McKinley and Olive. Since it was too dangerous for police to follow him they called in air support.

At one point Pena was clocked at over 130 miles per hour as he entered Highway 180 from Clovis Avenue. He was arrested at his home facing various violations including reckless driving. His car was also impounded.
