A local military veteran and his family got the keys to their new home in Madera on Thursday along with a warm welcome from their new neighbors.
Members of the school across the street held up signs and American flags to welcome them. Sergeant Jonathan Andrade and his family will now live in a mortgage free home from the Military Warriors Support Foundation. It helps military families transition out of the military and into their new civilian life. An effort, Andrade's wife says is vital. "We have a lot of veterans that are struggling still.. after the war everyone thinks everything is fine, but it's not, you know? they still need help. "
Andrade served in the Marines for eight years and served in two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. On Wednesday, Marine Corps Veteran Jordan Cody and his family received their new three-bedroom home in Fresno.
