FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A family disturbance ended tragically when a 72-year-old man shot and killed his own son, according to Police.
Friends have identified the victim as 39-year-old Tom Yue. He was gunned down at his doorstep in Northwest Fresno, moments after his wife went into labor, neighbors say.
Babken Piloyan was a friend and he lives next door, "He was such a good person, he didn't deserve it at all, no one does."
Piloyan say Yue rushed home from work after finding out his wife was in labor. He pulled up in a red SUV and a few minutes later, the shots were fired.
"As soon as he opened the door, he went to the front door, his dad was there and then... that took place," Piloyan said.
Yue's dad, a 72-year-old man surrendered to police at the scene. Yue was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds. An ambulance was also called for his wife.
"When she came out, she looked pretty shocked and crying," said a woman who didn't want to be identified. "She looked like she was full term too."
As for a motive, it isn't quite clear. Investigators could only say there was a family disturbance -- a dispute between the father and son. If there were any problems, Piloyan says he never noticed them.
Piloyan explained, "There was no signs of distress within their family, there were no kind of signals to say there's an issue going on."
Officers say a gun was recovered at the scene and the dad admitted to being involved with the shooting.
