FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer is the latest public figure to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

You're probably familiar with it: pledge to donate $100 to the ALS Foundation to combat the neurological disease, or pledge $10 and get an ice cold bucket of water dumped on your head.

"I want to challenge somebody that's given me a lot of heartache in my 13 years as chief and that is our president of the Fresno Police Officers' Association Jacky Parks, I'm calling you out," said Chief Dyer. "And I'm also going to call out his counterpart at the Deputy Sheriff's Association, that is their president Eric Schmidt. And I want to call out every single California police chief to take the ALS challenge."

In case you're wondering, the chief's challenge goes out to 337 police chiefs across the state.
