FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A major bike and toy giveaway brought hundreds of children to the Poverello House on Saturday.

One by one, bikes of all colors and sizes were unloaded in front of the Poverello House. The event is part of the 16th annual Toy Run put on by the Hells Angels.

The group collects toys and bikes all year long. They were able to gather more than 450 this year and used five trucks to bring them to the Poverello House.

Hundreds of kids and their parents waited in line outside for a chance to walk away with a bike this Christmas. One member says it's touching to see the smiles on kids' faces.

"They're not used to having bicycles, getting good toys and stuff like that, so it really hits home when you do stuff like this," said Merl Hefferman, a member of the Hells Angels.

Poverello officials say toy donations are an essential part of the holiday season. Without it, they wouldn't be able to help those in need.
