FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Marjaree Mason Center awarded ten local women Friday for their leadership in the community.
Our own Liz Harrison was one of the honorees. Liz was named one of the Marjaree Mason Center's Top Ten Professional Women of 2014.
The luncheon has been held in Fresno since 1983 and it brings to light the importance of stopping domestic violence in our community. More than 900 people attended Friday's event, which was also emceed by Action News anchors Margot Kim and Christine Park.
The lunch raises money for the Marjaree Mason Center and many of the programs they offer for abused women and children.
"They're really leading role models in our community. They do so much for our community and pour their hearts into it. They're such a great person to look up to and just really be able to showcase those ladies today we're very fortunate," said Genelle Taylor Kumpe with the Marjaree Mason Center.
