FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Valley teens had a chance to do a taste test on a new dish to decide if it becomes a permanent item on their lunch menu.

Uncle Ben's food truck made a stop at Clovis West Thursday afternoon. Workers served up samples of their new tropical Thai pineapple fried rice. After giving the rice a taste, students then had to provide their input on the dish by filling out a survey.

School leaders said they get ideas on things to serve the students online but love to hear from the students themselves about what they like to eat. "Sriracha has been popular so we've been putting spicy things on the menu. Seeing what those trends are and following into, I'm looking forward to more things coming," said Tawnie Kroll, nutritionist.

If the dish is a hit the item could be added to the menu sometime next year.
