FRESNO, Calif. -- A nightmare trip to Yosemite for three German tourists. They had to spend a night in the forest, injured near their crashed SUV.

The three women rolled the vehicle down a huge embankment on Highway 120 in Tuolumne County on Monday. Crews searched all night for them, but couldn't find them. Finally, Tuesday afternoon rescuers spotted the wreckage.

One of the women was still trapped inside the wrecked SUV. Another woman had been thrown out of the vehicle during the impact. Those two were flown to a hospital in Modesto where they are recovering. A 16-year old girl who was also in the SUV was able to climb out of the wreckage on her own.

It's still unclear what caused the crash and authorities say the three women are lucky to be alive.
