Breathtaking photos captured a whale jumping out of the ocean near a Maui resort, leaving visitors stunned.

Paddle boarders stopped and stared at the sight from what appeared to be at close range.

The photos caught the whale repeatedly breaching the surface off the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.

Humpback and sperm whales are the most well-known for this behavior.

Maui says it has some of the best whale watching in the world.
