FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A rescue group is asking for help after taking in two starving horses Saturday morning.
Fresno Humane Animal Services says the pair was found on the side of the road off Elm Street near Central Avenue in Fresno County.
They are underweight, covered in scars and have overgrown hooves. The organization is now caring for a total of four horses. Staff members are asking for donations, especially hay and grain to help feed them.
Those items can be dropped at the shelter on Nielsen near Teilman in west-central Fresno.
The two horses rescued will also be up for adoption once they are healthy enough.
