2 people in the Saturn, 58-year-old William Rowland and 50-year-old Keri Wells both of Tollhouse, died and another was seriously injured.
The impact was so strong a tire from the SUV ended up about a-hundred feet away in an orchard. >
Sgt. Alex Campos, Clovis Police, says "It's very graphic. It's a very violent type of collision just by the dynamics of the collision. We have a vehicle striking an object and vaulting into another vehicle. It's just pretty graphic."
The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries. Investigators don't know what led up to the accident or if alcohol was a factor.
