Snowflakes have six corners, according to the German scientist Thomas Koop, not four, five, or eight, like you see in children's books or on Christmas cards.
Koop is so disturbed he's written a commentary on the subject. It appears in the December 24th issue of "The Journal Nature."
He also wants people to know raindrops are not tear-shaped, but are actually spherical.
