But just a block away, at Ventura and "F" street, another homeless camp was packed with people Saturday night.
The city's homeless prevention manager said this forced move was different from previous raids on homeless camps.
"Brand new program now that we're offering. It's called our Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program just came fully online in mid December so we're very excited to use that stimulus money. Traditionally this time of year, there would have been no options," said Gregory Barfield, Fresno Homeless Prevention.
The city postponed an effort to move the homeless from the Ventura and "F" street location earlier this week.
Homeless people won a $2 million settlement against the city and Caltrans in 2008 because their belongings were taken during homeless raids.
