FRESNO, Calif.
"We know that immigration reform is next in line and we know it's an urgent issue but at the same time we want people to know we are serious about this. We want Obama to know we are serious. As a community we helped him get elected and it's important that he knows that this needs to be done...it's been put off for way too long," said Juan Avietia with the Fresno Brown Berets.
Supporters of immigration reform held signs and chanted as they marched through the streets of downtown Fresno. Sunday's march is part of a nationwide campaign for immigration reform.
Thousands of demonstrators crowded the National Mall in Washington D.C. Demonstrators watched a taped address by President Obama on a giant screen. He said he would do everything in his power to forge a bipartisan consensus on immigration reform this year.
