Nearly 50 people marched onto the FCC campus. Seven educators in the crowd began walking two weeks ago in Bakersfield.

Fresno is the mid-way point on their 48-day journey through California. They plan to make a 260 mile trek to Sacramento, asking people to sign a petition to get rid of the state legislature's two-thirds super majority vote -- which they say is killing education.

University students across the state are seeing higher tuition and larger classes because of the increasing budget struggle.

At FCC, another fee increase from $26.00 to $40.00 per unit is being proposed.

Demonstrators hope this trek will stir up community support that will peak at a state capitol rally next month.
