HP just released a new video showing off their as-yet-untitled slate, which is due out later this year. It looks pretty much the same as the iPad; multi-touch, ability to watch video, download e-books, but the slate runs on Windows 7. HP says with slate, "You're getting a full web browsing experience in the palm of your hand,"
That means the ability to multi-task, run 2 or 3 programs at the same time, all with Pandora playing in the background. And the slate will run adobe's flash player, a platform used to run video on web sites, something the iPad doesn't.
Lenovo will be offering the Ideapad U1. It's a laptop with a touch-screen that can also be detached and used as a tablet computer, all on its own.
And there are even more tablets in the works so with all these choices, it looks like the consumer might be the winner in this war.
