Oakland resident Thomas Bennett and fellow climber Mark Thomas of Berkeley hiked to the top of the 14-thousand foot mountain, but the weather turned bad as they began their descent.
Bennett began suffering altitude sickness on Sunday morning, that's when Thomas first called for help.
Thomas eventually left Bennett in a snow cave and hiked down for help. He told authorities that Bennett was unresponsive.
Authorities say they'll monitor the weather and hope to get rescue teams onto the mountain as soon as possible.
