Land O' Lakes to close Tulare cheese plant

FRESNO, Calif. Land O'lakes is halting work at one of its Tulare cheese plants. That will mean the loss of about eighty jobs.

In a letter to the mayor of Tulare, a company official said declining milk supply made it difficult to continue operating the facility.

The shutdown affects just one of several Land-O-Lakes plants on the Tulare site, which employs a total of about 500 people.
