Investigators say a Tulare County Sheriff's Deputy was told a driver was seen with a gun. The deputy says when he pulled over the car, two people ran off -- with one armed with a handgun.
Investigators say 22-year-old Joel Quintero turned the gun on the deputy. The deputy fired his gun hitting Quintero once.
Quintero was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The deputy is on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
