No one was hurt in the fire, but PG&E had to respond to the scene because of a downed power line.
Firefighters say it's likely the fire brought down the line and possibly caused a small explosion that some residents heard throughout the neighborhood.
"The sound of the explosion could have been a number of things. Household items stored in a garage tend to pop or explode. Things like aerosol cans. Small propane tanks from Barbeques -- things like that. Even with the line down can be loud. So that's why neighbors reporting an explosion -- it could have been that," said Ted Semonious with the Fresno Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
