The fire took place at the corner of Olive and Adoline in Central Fresno.
It took 18 firefighters to put out the blaze. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to just the garage.
The homeowners were at home at the time of the fire. Neighbors said that heard explosions and popping coming from the garage that could have been fireworks. Firefighters said that they couldn't confirm that fireworks were in the garage, but said not it is not illegal to store safe and sane fireworks.
Fallen power lines made it difficult to get access to the garage. PG&E has turned off power to the neighborhood.
Fire investigators had no estimate of damages.
