The City of Visalia is reviewing plans by Wal-Mart to expand its current location on Noble Avenue near Ben Maddox Way.
The super center would feature a grocery store and expanded electronics department. Wal-Mart says it will also hire 85 people to work at the store.
While many customers are excited by the thought of the one-stop shopping store, city officials are concerned about the traffic headaches the super Wal-Mart would bring.
Mike Olmos with the city of Visalia said, "There are a number of issues we're looking at traffic is one of the primary ones we're doing upgrades to the Ben Maddox interchange there are upgrades being done now to Noble Ave in front of Wal-Mart and in front of Mary's Vineyard those are going to be significant improvements that are going to help traffic circulation a lot."
Public hearings for the Super Wal-Mart will begin early next year.
