The Highway Patrol says members of a motorcycle club were celebrating their 10th anniversary with a ride on a highway near the Mexican border when a Honda Accord tried to pass them.
Another car coming in the opposite direction swerved to avoid the accord and lost control, crashing head on into the motorcycles.
Two men and two women from the motorcycle club died at the scene, as well as a passenger from the car that hit them.
Authorities are still searching for the driver of the car that triggered the accident.
