Jellyfish take over San Francisco beach

SAN FRANCISCO The jellyfish packed a section of beach stretching about three miles long and 20-feet wide, leaving many beach-goers surprised and concerned about their safety.

"These jellyfish, we believe, are moon jellyfish and they don't sting," said George Durgerian, a /*U.S. National Park Service*/ spokesman.

"I wouldn't go out of my way to go pick one up and play with it," he added.

Scientists are scheduled to launch an investigation Monday to try to determine why so many jellyfish ended up on shore.
