Santa Paws event benefits no-kill shelter

FRESNO, Calif.

Pets are also telling the big guy what they want for Christmas and Saturday, their owners took them to the Valley Animal Shelter to take a picture with St. Nick himself.

This is the third year the shelter hosted its Santa Paws photo session with all proceeds going to the no-kill shelter.

"Santa said he had more than 50 animals sit on his lap, which is a great boost from last year. So we were very excited about how many people came," Brittnee Maxfield said.

In addition to the Santa photos, Saturday's event also featured a craft, baked goods, and book sale so people could get a head start on their holiday shopping for both people and pets.
