House fire in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif.

It happened just before two Tuesday morning at a home on Englewood and San Pablo.

The Fresno Fire Department says a woman living inside the home woke up to smoke. She quickly got her two children out of the house.

Once firefighters arrived on the scene they found the fire burning in the home's attic and were able to stop the flames. But fire crews say the woman might have been able to prevent the whole incident.

"Something she didn't catch early on in the day. She was having electrical problems. She kept having to turn the breakers back on. That's a sign you have a problem and you should have someone take a look at. Fortunately it was discovered prior to the whole house being on fire," said Ted Semonious with the Fresno Fire Department.

No one was hurt. The fire destroyed the home's roof, but the inside is said to be okay.
