Families at the Sal Mosqueda Center got a lesson in healthy eating from staff from the Community Food Bank after participating in a free fitness boot camp.
The six month program is a joint effort between Fresno fitness expert Jenifer Alcorn, Fresno Metro Ministries, and the Community Food Bank.
From now through June, boot camps will alternate between the Mosqueda Center and the Holmes Playground.
"Come out and get nutrition information and fitness, and fun competition with your family. There is no age limit. All ability levels, all sizes and shapes, and we just want you to come out and get in shape," Alcorn said.
Saturday's kickoff also included a food distribution from the Community Food Bank.
All of the services are offered free of charge to Fresno families.
Funding is provided from the California Endowment's 'Building Healthy Communities' Initiative.
