Missing Riverdale baby found; Amber Alert cancelled

Officers say the baby's father, 19-year-old Edgar Rodriguez Ramos, kidnapped the child.

Just a few hours ago the baby was given back to his mother here at her home in Riverdale. Lupe Bueno hugged, held and kissed the child when he was back in her arms. The reunion ended over 24-hours of fear and worry.

Investigators say Edgar Ramos kidnapped his son Elijah from his Riverdale home Saturday night. The child's mother says Ramos threatened her a number of times about taking Elijah after she broke off their relationship.

Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies issued an Amber Alert Sunday after learning Ramos' mental health came into question and that he might hurt Elijah.

Deputies say Ramos and the baby were found in the town of Wasco around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night.

"Feel happy and blessed that he was brought back to me safe and that he's ok. we got good news instead of bad news. We're so happy," said Lupe Bueno.

The baby is in good condition. Officers say the car he was taken in didn't have a car-seat installed. That car was found in Wasco, which led investigators to the child.
