Small fire at Granite Park's Club Rome

FRESNO, Calif.

The Fresno Fire and Police Departments are looking for two men who they say are responsible for a fire outside a Fresno nightclub set to open Friday night.

The fire happened at the new Club Rome Nightclub at Granite Park in East Central Fresno just after 4 a.m. Friday morning.

Firefighters say the club filled with smoke from a fire near the front of the building. The fire quickly burned out and no one was injured from the fire.

The club's promoter Lewis Everk says surveillance video shows one of the suspects throwing a rock followed by a flammable liquid into the new nightclub. Everk says damage was minimal and the fire will not impact Friday night's grand opening.

The remodeled club features velvet curtains and seating -- large chandeliers and two levels of dancing.
