The shooting happened around 7:30pm outside an apartment on the corner of Ashlan and Helm, in Clovis.
Neighbors called 911 to report several shots had been fired. And, police say the victim may have been shot several times.
A K-9 unit from Fresno PD assisted in the investigation, along with anti-gang offices from MAGEC and U.S. Marshalls. Clovis PD said the help from outside agencies is routine.
A toddler was said to be inside the victim's apartment when the shooting occurred. The child was unharmed in the incident.
The victim has not yet been identified.
