Fresno Police SWAT officers spent the night mobilizing and zeroing in on the suspect at an apartment complex in East Central Fresno Tuesday night at Yale and Sierra Vista.
They say the suspect fled to his brother's apartment after shooting his ex-girlfriend outside another apartment complex less than two miles away at Shields near Sierra Vista.
Investigators found her dead near the sidewalk around 4 P.M. Police say the 28 year old female victim and the 34 year old male suspect had two kids together.
Investigators found a semi-automatic weapon with ammo with the suspect inside the apartment.
