Shaela Warkentin threw first pitch at Fresno Grizzlies game

FRESNO, Calif.

Shaela said, "I'm kind of nervous about the pitch, but I've been practicing this morning, so hopefully that goes well."

/*Shaela Warkentin*/ threw out the first pitch at Chukchansi Park, before the Grizzlies opening series with the Oklahoma City RedHawks.

The 16-year-old Bullard High student was seriously hurt in a car accident in March, and since then friends, family, and the community have rallied to help her recovery.

Members of the Grizzlies were also touched by the teen's story... Some, parents themselves.

Grizzlies Pitcher, Marc Kroon said, "As a parent, it must be one of the hardest things you can do. You know, there's always a positive in everything and she's out here, having a good time and not feeling sorry for herself. I just wish her and her family the best of luck."

In honor of "Shaela Warkentin Night" ... The Grizzlies donated a portion of ticket sales to Shaela's family. Her sister sang the national anthem.
