The shooting happened just before 10pm on the 4600 block of Illinois Ave. Police do not believe the victim was the intended target of the shooting.
The female victim is late in her pregnancy. Police said she was rushed to the hospital with what appear to be non life-threatening injuries to her or the unborn child. Police would not say where on her body she was wounded.
A white car was seen leaving the area moments after the shooting, but police do not know if that car is related to the crime.
The shooting does not appear to be gang related.
