Thousands of people came to remember Pastor G.L. Johnson. This was the chance for them to pay their final respects to a man who helped strengthen the Christian faith here in the Valley.
For about six hours on Saturday mourners came to People's Church to view his casket and share stories about the man known as the pastor's pastor. Not only did Pastor Johnson share his faith with the Valley he also worked with many around the world.
During his 45 years as pastor of People's Church. G.L. Johnson helped the church grow from a few hundred members to more than 5,000 by the time of his retirement in 2008.
The church also says there will be a private interment for Pastor Johnson.
