The first involved the murder of 42-year old Felipe Atilano.
On October 2, Atilano was sitting inside his van sleeping on Martin Luther King Boulevard near California in Southeast Fresno.
Police say someone opened the door to his van and shot Atilano in the head, and then went through his pockets.
At the time, there were no witnesses and no leads.
Then, on October 14, a 70-year old man was robbed and shot seven times outside the Family Food Market in Southeast Fresno.
He survived his injuries.
Fresno police say two seventeen-year olds are responsible for both shootings.
After a series of tips from the public, police made the arrests.
"When you look at the circumstances involved in both of these cases it was very brutal. They were senseless acts of violence committed by two 17 year olds. What we know to be hard-core gang members," Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said.
Police also arrested 20-year old Donte Erby and 18-year old Keba Young for attempted murder of the seventy-year old man.
