Action News was in Southwest Fresno as hundreds of kids received gifts from generous strangers. More than 400 students at King Elementary School got a special visit from Santa.

A non-profit group promised the toys but couldn't deliver on Monday. So a teacher contacted the Fresno County district attorney's office. 24 hours later cash and toys poured in.

Principal Faith Medina says the kids will treasure these toys more than most because many of them live below the poverty line. "For us that's the message that we continue to send our students that your work now is to make their dreams come true so that they can then help other children in their future for their dreams to come true."

A Sanger church pastor also provided additional toys late Wednesday night.

School officials say extra toys and cash will allow them to start next year's collection.
