Pepsi says Mountain Dew turns mice into 'jelly-like' substance

FRESNO, California

In 2009, Ronald Ball says he purchased a can of Mountain Dew -- only to discover mid-sip -- a dead rodent inside.

Ball claims he sent the mouse in a mason jar to Pepsi and that the company destroyed the evidence. But Pepsi is fighting back with some pretty disturbing proof.

A scientist who testified on behalf of the company said there was no way a mouse could have made it through the bottling process. He claims the soda is so corrosive -- the rodent's body would have dissolved into a jelly-like substance.

Ball is seeking damages of $50 thousand.
