Beekeepers like Nathan Sparkman have been busy placing hives in local orchards to pollinate almond blossoms.
Sparkman said 48 beehives stored on colored pallets were taken. One hive alone is worth $270-dollars. He's extremely frustrated because the thefts occur every year. "Over the last 3 years I'm probably close to $40-50-thousand dollars in losses and these losses keep adding up and you can't employ people."
Ag officials are asking the public to be more vigilant and report any suspicious activity when it comes to beehives or other Ag equipment.
