Neighbors called the fire department, and when crews arrived, they found the roof on fire. No one was inside the home at the time.
Firefighters were able to save most of the house, but they say these types of fires are all too common right now. "This time of year, you know, with graduations and the Fourth Of July coming up, Memorial weekend, a lot of firework activity happening. Its kind of the start of the summer and its happening across the city," said Nick Martino with the Fresno Fire Department.
Firefighters want to remind everyone, only safe and sane fireworks -- which don't leave the ground -- are legal in the city.
