SAN DIEGO

DataQuick said Tuesday that the median price for new and existing homes and condominiums reached $300,000 in June, up more than 5 percent from the same period last year. It marks the third straight annual price increase in the six-county region.

The median price matched the highest level since June 2010 but is still more than 40 percent below the peak in 2007.

The number of homes sold topped 22,000 last month, up nearly 8 percent from the same period last year.
