Larry Bishop, 64, spent two days and two nights clinging to a six-inch ledge of granite on the side of dog tooth peak.
Fresno County Deputy David Rippe is credited with making a split-second decision that likely saved Bishop's life. The deputy scrambled 300 feet up a 70-degree slope of slippery granite without ropes to secure Bishop. A California Highway Patrol helicopter was then called in to hoist Bishop off the ledge.
