Autopsy confirms dog mauling death in Selma

SELMA, Calif.

The Fresno County Coroner's office confirmed the man attacked at a home on Highway 43 near Saginaw died as a result of multiple bite wounds.

Fresno County Sheriff deputies believe four dogs were involved in the attack, but a total of 12 were impounded from the home, including seven puppies just 8-10 weeks old. The dogs are now under the care of Liberty Animal Control pending the investigation.

In the meantime, neighbors didn't want to go on camera, but told ABC30 the dogs involved in the attack are known to be aggressive, and may be linked to the deaths of two pets within the last month.

"Actually, a couple of them got into our yard about a month ago and killed one of our boxers."

"We didn't want to cause any problems and stir up any more problems, we just took him to the vet and he didn't make it."

The coroner's office is now trying to locate the victim's family before releasing his identity.
