Court proceedings have halted for a Fresno man accused of murdering his grandmother. Travis Fendley's attorney questioned his mental competency at a court hearing on Monday.

Fendley's family has told Action News he had long-term mental problems, and his grandmother was the only family member who hadn't given up on him. They believe the murder was premeditated.

If psychiatrists determine he is incompetent right now, Fendley could be moved to a state mental hospital to restore his ability to assist in his own defense.
