Justice Anthony Kennedy turned away that request Sunday with no additional comment. Proposition 8 supporters asked Kennedy to step in yesterday after the federal appeals court in San Francisco allowed same sex marriages to go forward on Friday.
Many weddings have already taken place across the state. The Central Valley counties are preparing for a busy day at the clerks office Monday.
