Spring storm drops rain, hail across Valley

KINGSBURG, Calif.

Action News Viewers sent photos of hail in Riverdale and Hanford. Pete Perez from Kingsburg is thrilled about the wet weather but worried the rain will damage his nectarines.

"Oh it's great! I love this weather. It was really nice until the hail started coming down, but the rain, we welcome the rain. Anytime the rain comes, it's good," said Perez.

He told us it's too early to tell whether there will be any damage. He pointed to the fruit and said, "It will scar it. It will make a little scar, dent it and when your fruit gets bigger there will be a little scar and they won't pack it.

"The roads are kind of scary," said Balente Cervantes. The California Highway Patrol went to several calls of spin-outs caused by the slippery conditions. Action News cameras caught one spin-out where investigators said a driver tried to brake at Highway 99 and Avenue 385 and hit a light pole.
