FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A bicyclist was hit by an SUV at Herndon and Fruit in Northwest Fresno. The collision reconstruction unit is out trying to determine what happened.
Police said the accident happened a little bit after 8:00 p.m. when a bicyclist crossing Herndon at Fruit was hit by an SUV traveling eastbound. The bicyclist was thrown into the middle of the intersection while his bike was pinned under the SUV.
Officials said the man on the bike was taken to the hospital and is said to be in critical condition.
For now, traffic heading eastbound on Herndon has been diverted to westbound lanes. Westbound traffic has been reduced to two lanes.
