FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Black Lives Matter organizers are planning another protest and if it's anything like the one that moved from Fresno into Clovis over the weekend police could have their hands full once again.
Fresno police are preparing for a second round of protests. A demonstration is planned for Wednesday evening.
Saturday's protest saw hundreds of demonstrators march from Blackstone and Shaw all the way to Clovis.
"The message was kind of clouded because there was a large amount of people out there that were probably just following the hype," said Justice Medina, organizer.
So organizers have planned a second protest Wednesday evening at six outside of the Fresno County Jail. It could end up disrupting the flow of traffic downtown.
"It's bigger than race. It's bigger than police brutality. That's one thing we are fighting against but there's other issues that need to be brought up as well," said Medina.
Sharon Dozier and Jimel Thomas won't be there for the protest but believe their children might attend, so they're hoping it is a peaceful gathering.
"There's a lot wrong going on, but you have a lot of people out here that's trying to do the right thing. The violence is not a good thing. It's never a good thing," said Dozier.
Local church leaders plan to attend the demonstration. Both women said the fight for equal rights is not over so protesters are just sending a message.
"That racism does exist. It's just basically been exposed and people are starting to wake up," said Thomas.
"If you're standing up for the right causes it's a good thing. But if you're here to just create a bigger issue than what we already have then that's not a good thing," said Dozier.
Following Wednesday's protest organizers plan to hold a town hall meeting Thursday evening at Liberty Christian Church in Central Fresno.
Fresno Police did not wish to discuss any preparations for Wednesday's event.
